Returns and WEEE policy
Please read the returns policy in it's entirety before contacting us to return any of your purchases. This will allow us to deal with your return quickly and efficiently.
Item Refunds:
Refunds for items returned will be credited to your credit/debit card within 30 days of cancellation.

Quote your invoice number as we reserve the right to refuse to accept any returned goods without prior authorisation. Please ensure the goods are returned in a good condition and wherever possible in its original packaging with a copy of the invoice enclosed.
Items Not Required:
We endeavour to provide as much information within our product pages to allow you to make an informed decision on your purchase.
Should you require to return any product, you may do so as long as you contact us up to 7 working days starting the day after you receive your delivery.
Return Postage Costs:
Alex Shanks Limited will not cover return postage costs.
Items should be returned to us by Recorded Delivery or equivalent service.
We advise that you obtain a proof of posting certificate available free at any post office.
Incorrectly Supplied Items:
If you receive damaged or defective goods from us we will offer you a prompt replacement, refund or alternative item to the same value.
Please contact us within 7 days, quoting your original order number, and we will arrange for the uplift and delivery of goods.
Defective/Damaged Goods:
If you receive damaged or defective goods from us please contact us within 7 days quoting your original order number, and we will arrange for the uplift and inspection of goods. Should we, upon receipt of said items be satisfied as to the alleged defects we will either replace the goods or arrange a refund of the full value of the goods. Alex Shanks Limited will cover re-postage costs for defective or damaged goods.
It is advisable to inspect the goods prior to signing for delivery. If you can see any damage whatsoever to the packaging sign for the goods as damaged. If this is not possible please ensure you sign for the goods unexamined to allow us to take any claims up with our delivery partners if necessary.
We advise you return goods using special/recorded delivery or equivalent service. You can obtain a proof of posting certificate free at any post office.
Alex Shanks Limited will not be held responsible for any uninsured items lost in transit.
WEEE policy
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
To ensure compliance of WEEE regulations, Alex Shanks Ltd provides the means for customers (in private households) to be able to return electrical items free of charge, on a one for one and like for like basis.
For example a customer buying a vacuum from us, may return their old vacuum to us for recycling and disposal, by contacting us to arrange a special collection through Parcelforce, free of charge. To arrange for this, please contact our customer service personnel on 0808 1660 420.
It is important to point out that these items must be disposed of in the correct manner and not simply put into a wheelie bin due to the impact on the environment and to human health because of hazardous substances contained in them. All new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste.
Following return of your items we will remove any spare parts suitable for use and then dispose of the remainder of the item through the appropriate local authority recycling facility. We will keep all records regarding this for 4 years, as required by law.
